NetTech House
Jan 7th
The 4th installment to the NetTech series:
NetTech House
Based on all commercial house really, its done completely on-the-fly and hence I don’t at all guarantee quality (eg. exact beat matching). This is most certainly not perfect due to the crappy sound card in my laptop. You will definatly be able to tell when it is slightly out but oh well. Eventually I may fix it, but I dont have the time or effort to do it now
No cue sheet or covers this time, not even a track list. Listening to it again now I find out how really bad it was. Sounded so much better with a crappy sound card
I may nuke this later.

Finally I’m Back!
Jan 5th
w00t w00t w00t
Finally back from the somewhat boring NZ.
In Tech News Today:
Networking gear maker Linksys is incorporating a new technology that expands the range of its Wi-Fi products up to three times and the speed up to eight times, according to the company.
Linksys, a division of networking giant Cisco Systems, announced on Tuesday a new line of 802.11g products that includes a feature called SRX, or Speed and Range eXpansion. The feature is based on multiple-in, multiple-out technology from chipmaking start-up Airgo Networks. Wireless networks based on the 802.11g standard have a range of about 150 feet and an optimal transfer rate of 54 megabits per second but average closer to half of that. The MIMO products are compatible with the 802.11g and 802.11b standards.
Limited range and slower-than-expected speed are common complaints from consumers with wireless networks. A Linksys $199 Wireless-G Broadband Router with SRX and a Linksys $129 Wireless-G Notebook Adapter with SRX PC Card are currently available and will be demonstrated at the upcoming Consumer Electronics Show this week in Las Vegas.
In the BitTorrent scene:
-rrtn released an update to his BitTornado mod (0.3.9b)
-Smasher has updated his Azureus mod to v1.8 (based on 2.2.0.3_B4)
For the next few hours I will be catching up on things that I’ve missed out in the last 12 days or so me talking on MSN may be minimal.
Almost Home!
Jan 5th
Its 5:31 AM in NZ at the moment and I plan to arrive home at around 12PM. I should be getting back on the net around 2PM.
Currently in the Qantas lounge and browsing the net for last minute things.
There has been some excellent news recently:
- Microsoft Anti-Spyware Beta Due 6th Jan (Includes screenshots) (Neowin)
- Info on the upcoming Intel Smithfield Chipset (The Register)
- Intel preps new P4 600s (Xbit Labs)
I also found that Clubbers Guide to 2005 is out from MoS – its probally the same commercial crap but Ill have to check it out.
Thats all for now…I have some catching up to do when I get home.
Te Anau
Jan 2nd
For the last 2 days I’ve been in Te Anau and there ain’t much here. Went up to Milford Sound this afternoon and amazingly it didn’t rain so things were ok.

I found this quite funny. Took this picture outside a cafe at Queenstown and GPRS emailed it from my phone to Fraz. Thanks!
Tech news that caught my eye is to a minimum. However, I found that nVidia’s nForce 5 chipset is to be an Intel P4 Chipset! Amazing since they have been supporting AMD all this time. The future of this chipset looks very promising due to the reliabiliy of the AMD nForce chipsets. The Inquirer reports that the chipset will allow an overclock to 1.2GHz of the FSB in 300MHz intervals.
