In other news, today my site was completely hammered with about 60gb of bandwidth in 7 hours. Why? because I was one of the first to mirror the other hammered site that offered exclusive PDC ’05 pictures of the new Vista build 5219. Interestingly enough, even though posting in Neowin’s comments section my site got pushed to the front page and bam. Need I say more? Anyway, the other site hosting it is back up and I have taken down the mirror on my site and now I have an extra 50gb of bandwidth to spare.

Thats all for now, list ended up larger than I thaught and I’m still missing things, oh well.

Hello Windows Vista!

Windows Vista is here! well a few days ago now, I haven’t really been bothered to update.

So finally, Windows Vista Codenamed Longhorn has been released and is available to both MSDN Subscribers and Testers @ connect.microsoft.com.

Build Tag: Version 6.0 (Build 5112.winmain_beta1.050720-1600)

There has been a lot of Windows news lately, so let me start with some other things before I talk more about Vista…

Firstly, about a week ago Microsoft implemented the Windows Genuine Advantage system for Windows Update making pirated versions of Windows inaccessable to access Windows Update, however, this was bypassed within 24 hours with a simple tweak.

Tools > Internet Options > Programs Tab > Manage Add-Ins > Disable Windows Genuine Advantage

Tada, its been bypassed.

Secondly, a site has been put up to do with Pre-SP3 patches for Windows XP, very useful: Click Here

Thirdly, lots of betas have started up: Onecare Beta 1, Windows Installer 6.2 Beta and Hotmail Beta

There have also been some rumors about the MSN Messenger 5.0 for MAC being able to connect to multiple protocols: Click Here

OK, now the Vista. As some will know, I was invited to test Vista so I have access to connect.microsoft.com. On the date of release the following packages were released:

-Windows Vista x86 Beta 1 (2.42GB)
-Windows Vista x64 Beta 1 (2.42GB)
-Windows Vista x86 Debug Build Beta 1 (2.42GB)
-Windows Vista x64 Debug Build Beta 1 (2.42GB)
-Longhorn Server x86 Beta 1 (2.4GB)
-Longhorn Server x64 Beta 1 (2.4GB)
-Longhorn Server x86 Debug Build Beta 1 (2.4GB)
-Longhorn Server x64 Debug Build Beta 1 (2.4GB)
-Internet Explorer 7 Beta 1 for Windows XP (11MB)
-Tablet PC Patch for Windows Vista Beta 1 (8MB)

As you can see Vista is a DVD ISO, so its a huge download.

So to keep you to the current news, heres what you should know about Vista:
-TweakVista for DWM effects
-No Public IE7 Test till Beta 2
-Windows Vista will include Virtual PC
-IE 7 Defends Against Phishing Sites
-Vista release slips to Q4 2006
-Patched UXTheme for Vista Beta 1
-nVidia releases WinVista 75.03 LDDM-Enabled Drivers
-ATi Released Vista Drivers also

And just so you know, AntiWPA was released at the same time released WinBeta released Vista, so yes, there is a crack out there. Also, seeign as I can’t be bothered taking screenshots on my laptop, enjoy some screenshouts thanks to WinCustomize.

Upgrade to 3.2beta2

Just upgraded to MT3.2b2, bit of a pain due to a new config file – but I finally sorted it out, nearly wiped the whole database. So anyway, now the search function is stuffed but I might fix it soon.

Bigpond for the last 72 hours or so has been completely stuffed due to the newer 60.*.*.* range which seems to be being blocked by a close provider in the US so many sites are completely inaccessable.

In News:

-Longhorn to be called Windows Vista
-MSN Messenger 7.5.0162 leaks to the intarweb (Click for Download)

Thats…about it…School tomorrow unfortunatly – going to be absolute crap, on the other hand – Sunee rocks, the end.

Grant Rocks

So, I just wanted to post about how much I rule. I rule a lot. And everybody should worship me.

Edit: Clearly this wasn’t posted by me – guess who -_-

Its been over a month now…

Edit: Slight downtime due to the update to 3.2beta – I went away for dinner and didn’t realise the package uploaded an index.html. Server accessed the html as the index instead of the .php, all working now

Well, most of you would have thaught this blog is dead…but you were wrong.

Last month or so has been busy with both school work and WoW so I really haven’t had the time or effort to make such a blog post. However, now im level 60 and its the school holidays. For the first week of the holidays we took a trip to Hong Kong for the…10th or so time, and thats where I’m currently writing this blog post.

Took my laptop with me to Hong Kong for the week so I could catch up with my downloads and some WoW, but the food has been great here of course and I’ve gotten my self a few new gadgets. We leave tomorrow (Saturday) night and get back sunday morning.

Time in Hong Kong as been great – been able ot catch up with friends and also been staying on the executive floors of the hotel (free food ftw). Next week of the holidays will be pretty much full work…and food, I don’t really have time to spare.

As for tech news, its been reasonably quiet, no huge breaks or leaks etc. Firefox and Thunderbird 1.0.5 has been released as well as an update to the ATi Catalysts (v5.7). A CS:S update was released a couple of days ago as well as WoW v1.6 which adds Blackwing Lair. Other than that there was a few screenshots of Longhorn 5203 that leaked, but the build hasn’t and will not. More facts about the Longhonr 5203 screenshots can be found here: Clicky

As for the new gadgets…

Motorola Razr V3
Great flip phone from Motorola, spent a day Seem editing it to personalise it, but the phone works well and fast. The camera is also great quality compared to my old crappy Nokia 3200. Supports Quad Band GSM and the 3 Network of course.

Razr V3

Sony CyberShot DSC-T7
This camera is the current top of the range slim line digital still camera from Sony. Does 5.1 Megapixels and has a Carls Zeiss lense. Its extremely thin and easilly fits in a pocket. Came with a 1GB SanDisk Memory Stick Duo.

Sony DSC-T7

Linksys WAG54G ADSL Gateway
Great Linksys router and gateway for the ADSL2+ service from Internode that I’ll be getting at another location (I’ll be still keeping my Bigpond cable). I was also going to buy a new Linksys MIMO router to replace my WRT54GS but I don’t think its worth it until MIMO becomes more mainstream.

Linksys WAG54G

Over here I also saw some new 7800s in their boxes, and in action which was good to see – excelent performace from nVidia but I’m sure ATi will come out with something better soon enough.

On the other hand, thats about all I have to say for now – Movable Type 3.2 Beta is out so I might spend the next hour trying to upgrade to that, hopefully everything will go smoothly. I’m also planning a site redesign in a few months but not too soon – I still have work to do – so feel free to leave comments.

A BLOG POST!!!11@

So anyway, heres a blog post, I can’t say I have too much to say, other that I’d rather play WoW than make a blog post haha. Gogo lvl58

So Anyway, Theres some news about ATI announcing their “Crossfire” which is the equivilent to nVidia’s SLI technology and Kevin Rose has left G4TV finally, and has started work on Systm, where the first episode has already been release:

Other than that…school sucks and exams start in about 1 or 2 weeks – that’ll do for now.
